Lowara pumps are reliable, well-engineered products — but all pumps develop faults over time, and some are more common than others. Here's what our engineers most frequently diagnose and repair:

Mechanical seal failure The most common Lowara repair across booster sets and submersibles. Seal failure leads to internal leakage, reduced output, and — if left unattended — water ingress into the motor. Mechanical seals are a standard stock item at our Bristol workshop.

Impeller wear or damage On multi-stage Lowara sets (e-SV series), gradual impeller wear reduces output pressure over time. A more sudden pressure drop often indicates a damaged impeller caused by running dry or a debris strike. Impeller replacement is carried out at our workshop.

Bearing failure Identifiable by increasing noise and vibration before the bearing seizes entirely. Our engineers carry replacement bearings for common Lowara frame sizes and can replace on-site in many cases.

Motor winding failure Caused by running dry, sustained overloading, or moisture ingress. Motor rewinding is carried out at our dedicated rewind workshop in Bristol — restoring the motor to original specification at a fraction of replacement cost, with a faster turnaround than sourcing a replacement motor.

Pressure switch or sensor fault Pressure switches and sensors are the most common cause of Lowara booster pump "failure" that turns out to be a control fault rather than a mechanical one. Our engineers test and calibrate pressure controls on-site and carry common Lowara pressure switch types in stock.

Phase convertor or capacitor failure Common on older single-phase Lowara pump installations. Identifiable by pump underperformance or failure to start. Overhauled at our workshop at a fraction of full pump replacement cost.
