Booster Pumps

Whether in a commercial, domestic or industrial environment, booster pump underperformance or failure can be very disruptive. In scenarios where guests or residents are reliant on a booster pumping system,  pump failure often results limited access to running water – particularly those in the higher levels of the building. Many facilities management companies across the UK rely on Mawdsleys Pumps for the preventative maintenance of there booster pumping systems; something that is included within our facilities management fixed maintenance contracts.

Borehole Pumps

Giving the initial investment that comes with a borehole drilling and pump installation – there really is no excuse to let regular maintenance and repair slip through the net.

Catching problems before they develop ensures that minor problems do not lead to complete system failure; something that can be very costly for businesses that rely on these pumps.

Testimonials

This morning your engineer Zach was on site to repair the pump. I am looking after approx. 85 engineers and I must admit he is one of the most polite & talented engineers I met during my career as an facility manager. He was not late, listened to what I have to say, left his workplace place clean, advised correctly and most importantly, he knows what he is doing.

We at WWT Slimbridge in Gloucestershire have been using Mawdsleys for several years. We have found them very obliging and very quick in responding to any faults and breakdowns." At WWT we rely on pumping stations for pumping sewage to various pumping stations which eventually are pumped to a reed bed. It is essential that we have a good response time. The costs are competitive and no one has ever beaten them on our contract pricing. They are always courteous and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Mawdsleys have been the provider of maintenance and inspection works for North Somerset's mechanical pump stock over the last four years. All pricing has been consistently transparent and the service given by all staff from Paul in the office to the chaps in the man holes has been exemplary. I would highly recommend Mawdsleys to any company or authority who are considering their services.

Pump Repair FAQs

The price varies depending on:

  • The location of the site
  • Whether we can fix the problem on-site or we have to remove the pump
  • The type of pump

Do not hesitate to call us if your pump fails, as we can provide you with guidance over the phone, too.

Contact us immediately! We can give you advice on what to do even before we come to inspect.

The standard is that pump servicing should be carried out every 6 to 12 months.

If a repair costs more than 50% to 75% of a new unit, we generally recommend replacement. You must also consider efficiency—a new 2026 model might be 20% cheaper to run than your 15-year-old repaired equipment.

The most common warning signs of pump failure (depending on the pump pipe) are:

  • Pump not turning on
  • Pump not turning off
  • Pump being noisy
  • Toilet backing up
  • Low water pressure
  • Pump leaking
  • High-level alarm sounding
  • Bad smell from pump/sump
  • High energy costs
