Example of a Borehole Pumps

Borehole Pumps

Borehole pumps are often found in construction, mining and agricultural environments. Boreholes are often used to extract petroleum, water, or other types of natural gas from below the ground.
They can also be used to extract water for irrigation, dust suppression and can also be used to deliver pressurised water to domestic properties.

Booster Pumps

Booster pumps increase the water pressure of a property, they are often used to increase pressure in commercial buildings such as apartment buildings but can also be installed for the same purpose at domestic sites. Portable Long Reach Irrigation Systems

Our long reach irrigation systems are particularly popular with groundsman of professional sports clubs, they can also be used as a dewatering system in quarries and mining sites.

An LRI system allows for quick and effective watering of an area on a standard mains system through the use of a 12-volt battery; even on a low-pressure water supply.

Submersible Pumps

Submersible pumps contain a watertight motor, allowing the system to be completely submerged in water. this placement helps pump fluid more efficiently than above ground pumps.

At Mawdsleys, we have the capability and experience to work with all types of submersible pump including sewage pumps, storm water pumps, flood pumps and basement pumps. Mawdsleys can recommend the correct pump based on your system requirements and budget.

Bristol Rovers Football Club

Used these guys for a breakdown, speedy to respond, arrive on site and sort the issue. Will be my first port of call from now on. Highly recommended.

Mike Anderson

We have been delighted with the LRI50 Long Reach Irrigator and would recommend any ambitious club and grounds team invest in one There is no way the pitch would be where it is today without being able to water such a large area during the summer months and any dry spells. The Irrigator is an invaluable part of the grounds team and has never let us down. It has to be seen as an investment, not a cost as without it; our pitch would be nowhere near as good as it is today.

Pump Installation FAQs

Proper sizing is based on Flow Rate (how much water you need at peak times) and Total Dynamic Head (the vertical height + friction loss in the pipes). We always tell clients: “Bigger is not better.”

The “Golden Rule” is to place the pump as close to the water source as possible to minimise suction lift. Don’t forget maintenance access. We often see pumps installed in spaces where an engineer can’t even get a wrench in to change a seal. If you can’t reach it, we can’t fix it.

For large booster sets or commercial pumps, you must often notify your Distribution Network Operator (DNO). High-power motors can cause voltage dip on the local grid when they start. To avoid red tape, we recommend Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

You must manually fill the pump housing and suction line with water to displace all air. Most pumps are centrifugal, meaning they cannot move air; if there’s a bubble, the pump will spin but won’t move water.
